Echonora Start Guide

Echonora translates your LINE group chats automatically, so everyone can write in their own language. This guide gets your first group translating in about five minutes, then shows the everyday commands, how plans work, and where to get help.

Getting help

Quick answers

Get started

Three steps, about five minutes. You need the LINE app on your phone.

Step 1: Add Echonora on LINE

Open the link below on your phone and tap Add.

Add Echonora on LINE

Step 2: Create a group and invite Echonora

In LINE, create a new group and invite Echonora and the people you want to talk with. Already have a group? Just invite Echonora to it.

Step 3: Tell Echonora which languages to translate

In the group, type @Echonora, then the two languages joined by "and". For example: @Echonora English and Thai

Use the languages your group actually speaks, such as @Echonora English and Vietnamese or @Echonora Japanese and Indonesian.

You're done

Echonora replies to confirm the languages. From then on, every message in one language gets a translation in the other, automatically. Nobody needs to type anything special again.

Not working? Check that you typed the command in the group, not in your private chat with Echonora. A private chat with the bot does not translate.

Everyday commands

Every command starts with @Echonora and is typed in the group.

To do thisType this in the group
Change the languages@Echonora English and Japanese (a new pair replaces the old one)
Pause translation@Echonora stop translation
Resume translation@Echonora start translation
Add more languages to one group@Echonora english and vietnamese and indonesian
Remove Echonora completelyRemove Echonora from the group in LINE

You can type commands in English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian or Vietnamese, whichever is easiest for you.

More than two languages in one group

A group can use between 2 and 5 languages at once. List them in one command and Echonora translates every message into all of the others.

When someone writes in one of the group's languages, Echonora translates the message into all the others. A team speaking English, Chinese and Japanese can share one group instead of three.

Voice messages

Send a voice message in the group as usual. Echonora turns it into text and posts the translation as text, so people who can't listen right now, or don't speak your language, can still follow.

Translate just for yourself

Want translation without anyone else in the chat? Create a group with only yourself and Echonora, set your languages, then type or send voice messages there. We call this a group of one. It's how travellers and language learners use Echonora.

Supported languages

Echonora supports 180+ languages. Type language names in the command, not codes.

Plans and your account

Start free and stay free as long as it covers your group.

The free plan covers 20 translated messages a day. No card required, and it never expires. When the day's allowance is used up, translation stops until the next day; nothing is charged.

Only one person needs to pay. When one member of a group subscribes, the whole group gets unlimited translation, and everyone else uses it free.

How to subscribe

1. Open your private chat with Echonora in LINE, not a group. 2. Send a message such as: I want to subscribe. 3. Echonora replies with two payment links made for your account, Monthly and Annual. Tap the one you want and pay by card. 4. Echonora then sends a confirmation showing the email your subscription is linked to. Keep it, because you'll need that email to manage your plan.

Always use the payment links Echonora sends you. They connect the payment to your LINE account, so a payment made any other way can't be matched to you.

Manage, switch or cancel an existing plan

If you already have a paid plan, go to https://echonora.com/subscription and enter the email from your confirmation message. You'll get a sign-in link by email, and from there you can download receipts, update your card, switch between Monthly and Annual, or cancel. If you cancel, your plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.

Getting help

Start in your private chat with Echonora: it answers most questions straight away. For anything it can't solve, use the contact form.

Your private chat with Echonora

The private chat with Echonora is a support assistant. Ask it in your own words and your own language about setting up a group, changing languages, supported languages, what the plans include, or how to subscribe. It sends your personal payment links when you ask.

This chat does not translate your messages. Translation only happens in groups. To translate just for yourself, use a group of one.

The contact form

For billing, account problems, or anything the assistant can't sort out, send us a message through the contact form and someone from our team will reply. To get a faster answer, include your LINE display name, the group name if it's about a group, what you typed and what happened (a screenshot helps most), and for billing questions the email you used when you paid.

Quick answers

Does everyone in the group need to pay?

No. One subscriber in the group unlocks unlimited translation for everyone in it.

The group suddenly stopped translating. Why?

Usually one of three things: the free daily allowance was used up and resets the next day; the group's only subscriber left, so the group is back on the free plan; or translation was paused. Try @Echonora start translation, then send the language command again.

Can Echonora translate text in photos?

Not yet. Echonora translates typed messages and voice messages, not text inside images or screenshots. If it matters, send it as text.

My long message wasn't translated.

Very long messages can fail. Split it into shorter messages, roughly a paragraph each.

How do I stop Echonora for good?

Remove Echonora from the group in LINE. To pause instead, type @Echonora stop translation.

How many languages can one group use?

Between 2 and 5. List them all in one command, for example @Echonora english and vietnamese and indonesian, rather than starting a second group.

What does the free plan cover?

The free plan covers 20 translated messages a day, with no card required and no expiry. A group set to several languages still counts one message as one. When a group needs more, one member subscribes and the whole group gets unlimited translation, and it falls back to the free plan if that member leaves.
